Hoorah for the filth that inhabits the internet!

I firmly believe that the internet has removed that little part of our brain that judges in a good way and has placated the otherwise frowned upon need for creepy self indulgence. While typically this is where I would throw in a jab at some fetish I don't understand, I have bigger fish to fry (homework for the class: find pr0n relating to frying fish, I bet it exists).
There is a new fad in the art world that is based heavily in taxidermy in various forms. From already dead creatures. You know road kill, natural death, still borns, things like that. Things that make sense, and while creating an ick factor, have no direct adverse actions on the animals life/quality of life/right to existance. Some one finds a dead animal, takes it to the artist/taxidermist, and a charming center piece is made. Lovely, sign me up for two.
This, however, differs completely from going out and killing an animal for the sake of "art." Kill to feed yourself, kill to protect yourself (you know, from something that intends to and is capable of killing you, not a god damned kitty cat, bunny, or other small and generally harmless creature), and if you kill something by accident, own up and call whatever local authority plays tidy-time with cadavers. And this does not just include yourself, this includes your pets. If you have a cat-killing dog, make sure it can't get out of your yard. If your cat goes after the neighbor's rodent friend of choice, keep an eye on that sucker. The "circle of life" bullshit ends the moment miss kitty gets her kibble and fido eats processed chicken asses out of a can. If we followed the food chain like good little mammals I would surely have eaten my elderly and weak neighbors by now, and more than likely have been eaten by something with actual predator adaptations(claws, teeth, speed, muscle, venom...something other than the ability to chase things into holes or make weapons; that will actually survive a fall from it's own height without many broken bones) by now. Responsibilty seems to be a fleeting trait.

But back on topic, my mind tends to wander.

Killing animals for fun is wrong, killing people for fun is wrong, torturing other living creatures for fun is wrong. There is a line between things like slasher flicks and becoming part of said filth. Games, movies, books, and T.V. shows of this type exist to remind us of the darker side of human nature, to expose us to the real boogeymen at the root of our fears, and to toy with the sinister fantasies in the back of our minds. It is a catharic release for emotions and actions we know are just as detrimental to ourself as they are to those we may harm.
Unfocused, unbridled malevolence towards another human being or towards an animal is showing of a state of imbalance. The need to kill or harm without reason or being provoked is not normal, and documenting these actions in a public manner is pure lunacy. So why is it so acceptable on here? I have seen a lot of crap on here lately with the deviant (oh how appropriate for a change) cutting into an animal they claim to have killed, or pictures of their pet with another pet it has killed. Further more, it is frequently by deranged anime fans with galleries full of naked pre-adolescent anime characters. Pokemon and Naruto do NOT condone killing animals, nor do most other animes or cartoons. If you can whack off to a cat-girl, why the hell would you want to kill a cat? Pointless murder should not equate sexual gratification. It does not make you "ninja," it does not make you cool, it makes you a waste of resources. You are not the natural predator to maintain the population balance, people take care of killing themselves (intentionally or otherwise) just fine.
If my crazy is enough to be shut in for, this crazy sure as hell is too.
